About Mary

I’ve loved drawing living creatures since I was a little girl, when sketching my horse was almost as much fun as riding him. Trying to make things as lifelike as possible was a happy challenge for me then and still is.

Ignoring encouragement from my high school and college art teachers to make portraiture my career, I chose to marry and raise my family with hardly a thought of art. Thankfully there was time to spare, and for over 10 years I have been painting and drawing portraits for people around the United States.

What a joy it has been! The most unexpected bonus of drawing and painting is the fun I have delivering portraits to my emotional customers. I feel blessed to be able to evoke such depth of feeling and happiness.

In New Works you will find still lifes, landscapes and animals, as well as something I’m very excited about - snapshots of life. These are happy scenes depicting people in everyday life. I will be producing a series of large pieces, so check back now and then to see my current works.
